Filling my cup!

At Hope Inspired, we are great advocates for filling our cups - restoring and replenishing our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual energy. It’s akin to recharging our batteries.

When our cup is empty, we feel depleted. We might be physically exhausted or mentally drained…or both. Everything is an effort and there is little joy in our life. A full (or fuller) cup might mean we feel rested and energised. We are more likely to maintain our physical and emotional well-being and manage stress.

So filling our cup is essentially about self-care. It’s about taking care of ourselves and making time to do what supports our wellbeing. This may look different for each of us and will depend on our needs, circumstances, interests, likes/dislikes and so on.

Many women find that getting together and socialising is part of their self-care. So we have set up fortnightly Filling my Cup meet-ups. These provide an opportunity for women to come together and connect over a drink and a snack…join in with an arts and craft activity or take a walk in the local park. Or simply chat and enjoy each other’s company. A great way to fill our cups!

I enjoy coming to Filling My Cup. We are all in the same boat… We have a good laugh and sometimes a cry! I enjoy all the activities we do and we have the best coordinator who delivers the best coffee morning for all of us and we love her!

Kay

I have been enjoying coffee mornings. I have learnt new skills such as cyanotype painting, which I came across for the first time. I love my paintings, through the activities I have built up my confidence and can think of different ideas to help the wider communities.
